THINKING OF HAVING THERAPY?
Being human can be really difficult at times and people are often lead to work with me out of a desire for things to change, be that to change how they feel, live or their relationships. Issues from our past or present life often combine with the pressures of the modern world and we can feel the need for support outside of our families or friends. I work with men and women, either individually or in couples and can help in a number of ways.
ABOUT ME
Prior to qualifying as a therapist in 2005 I worked in management and business administration before returning to university as a mature student. I have lots of life experience including being a wife, mother, step-mother and all the challenges and joys these bring! I am also a person who is passionate in the belief that people can change profoundly in order to thrive and enjoy their lives.
I have worked with hundreds of people to change their lives.
I am fully insured and as a member of the BACP I adhere to their standards and regulations. I continue to participate in a programme of training and development.
Individual therapy might be the only time in our week or lives where we get time to really focus on ourselves. A place to bring the stuff that we keep inside our head and don't feel we can share or solve. It's a place to be heard, supported and find new ways of coping.
Relationships can be wonderful, bring meaning and fulfilment to life and can be at times be really, really hard. We think everybody else knows what they are doing , never argues and know what they are doing. Well they don't! As a relationship counsellor I know relationships go through bad times and struggles and in couples therapy we can learn why it happens and how to learn completely new ways of communicating and avoid getting into painful spirals of hurting each other.
Anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, communication problems, relationship difficulties, loneliness, low self esteem, lack of confidence, stress, loss and grief, bereavement, shame.
