Sometimes working out exactly how we are feeling , what we are feeling can be difficult. We just know we don't feel good and we are not completely sure why. If we are not used to talking about ourselves or our feelings opening up can to family or friends can feel scary. I am a compassionate, thoughtful therapist who can make this easier.
I think of ourselves as a bit like a pot. When we are relatively empty of hurt, pain, bad feelings we enjoy life much more. But from early childhood things can happen that we don't get support with and our pot gets fuller as we move through life. Guess what? Our lid comes off. And we will all do it differently. Whether it's obsessive thoughts, depression, anxiety, headaches, insomnia, its a signal. it's time to start attending to yourself, your inner world.
By doing this in a safe environment, being listened to and exploring ways of coping differently our pot begins to empty and we start feeling better, enjoying life more and even thriving!
